FAQs – Fitting Appointment
We offer exclusive use of the boutique for your appointment so we can give you our full attention. For this reason, we do ask that you pre-book to guarantee you will be able to view and try our wedding dresses on. Find out our FAQs below.
How long will my appointment take?
The bridal boutique is exclusive to the bride and their guests, each appointment is 1 hour 30 mins giving you enough time to choose the one.
Bridesmaids is also by Appointment Only so we can show you the styles that can be achieved with the Multiway Bridesmaid Dresses.
Can I bring guests?
We love our brides to bring guests, we recommend a maximum of four guests. But if you would like to bring more please let me us know so we can get the spare chairs out.
We understand that you may need to bring children to your appointment. Please understand the boutique is not child friendly.
What shall I wear on the day of my appointment?
I recommend bringing some shoes which are the height you would wear on the day. Shape wear if you plan on wearing it. Nude/white underwear if you have any and a supportive bra.
Access To The Premises
To enter the premises there are 3 steps up to the door. To enter the changing room there are four narrow steps, however we can bring the bride in her dress into the main shop area and close the blinds to maintain privacy if anyone from the bridal party cannot manage the stairs.
Parking
There are a number of car parks in Alnwick, all of which are now free to park in. You will need to buy a parking disc which costs £1 and is available from a number of outlets in the town including the Tourist Information Centre.
The closest long stay car park is a 3 minute walk. Post code NE66 1SF. Parking outside the shop is limited to 1-2 hours
FAQs – Bridal Alterations
We don’t include the price of alternations with the bridal gown. Bridal alterations can vary due to the works involved.
Most bridal dresses do need to be altered. We recommend alterations to be done by 1-2 months before the wedding.
Do you do bridal alterations in house?
No, we work with a selected few approved seamstresses from the local area.
Payment for alterations is made directly to the seamstress.
You can also use your own seamstress.
How long does it take to order a dress?
A gown can take 3-5 months depending on the designer.
We do have a quick service on selected few gowns which can take as little as 2 months from a select few providers. However there is a charge for the rush service.
What other stock do you hold?
We hold jewellery, hair pieces, bridal storage boxes, travel boxes and veils. Also bridesmaids and prom dresses.
What size dresses do you hold?
Although we would love to stock every dress in every size, it would be impossible so we stock dresses from 8-26. Some styles can be ordered up to a size 32. The dresses you try on won’t all fit perfectly but we’re a dab hand at pinning so you can see it at its best.
